Bengal Warriorz made a powerful statement in their Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 opener, defeating defending champions Haryana Steelers 54-44 at the Vishwanadh Sports Club in Vizag on Sunday. Skipper Devank Dalal led from the front with a sensational 21-point performance, while Manprit Pardeep added 13 and Ashish Malik anchored the defense with a High Five.

For the Steelers, Shivam Patare and Vinay fought valiantly, both recording Super 10s, but their efforts weren’t enough to stop the Warriors’ relentless charge.

The match began with Ashish Malik setting the tone defensively and Dalal asserting dominance in attack. Despite Patare’s brilliance, including a Super Tackle from Neeraj, the Warriors surged ahead. Mayur Kadam’s tackle inflicted the first All Out of the night, helping the Season 7 champions build an 18-11 lead.

By halftime, Patare had already completed his Super 10, scoring 14 of Haryana’s 19 points, but Bengal Warriorz held firm with a 23-19 cushion. Dalal notched his first Super 10 of the season, underlining his control of the game.

The Steelers responded strongly in the second half, with Vinay leading their fightback and Rahul Sethpal’s tackle helping them inflict an All Out. Patare’s raid even brought the scores level, but the Warriors struck back instantly. A Super Raid from Manprit Pardeep restored their lead before a second All Out widened the gap to seven.

Dalal then produced a stunning four-point Super Raid to extend the margin further, as the Warriors inflicted a third All Out to cross the 50-point mark. In the end, Bengal Warriorz sealed a commanding 54-44 win, signaling their intent for the season with an attacking masterclass.
