Chelsea are world champions once again, and they did it in spectacular fashion. Under the lights of a packed MetLife Stadium, the Blues ruthlessly dismantled and outplayed Luis Enrique’s PSG 3–0 in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final, claiming their second world title and cementing their spot at the top of the food chain.
From the whistle, Chelsea seized momentum. Starman Cole Palmer opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after PSG's Nuno Mendes misdirected a header, leaving Palmer to finish it with ice-cold composure. Just eight minutes later, he doubled the lead with a sublime strike, his intelligent positioning proving too much for PSG’s defence to handle.
Before halftime, Palmer set up João Pedro for the third goal, a cheeky chip over Gianluigi Donnarumma in the 43rd minute, bringing an end to the first half with a bang.
With the game effectively won by halftime, the remainder was marked by tension rather than chances. Chelsea gave PSG no edge in the 2nd half, controlling the game with air-tight gameplay. A post-match flare-up occurred when PSG coach Luis Enrique appeared to push João Pedro during a heated exchange. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca praised his squad’s intensity and tactical discipline in sweltering conditions, describing the performance as “perfect” and hailing Palmer’s mentality under pressure.
The victory, secured in front of an 80,000+ crowd, marked Chelsea’s second Club World Cup title and earned them the right to wear the coveted world champion badge. With Palmer named Player of the Tournament, this triumph cements a remarkable season as Chelsea look to achieve greater heights next season.
